Koelenhof Wine Cellar is situated among vineyard-covered slopes, 14 kilometres outside the beautiful town of Stellenbosch in the Western Cape region of South Africa. As far as Stellenbosch wine farms go, visitors can expect to find a wide range of products and services at our winery. It is a geographical location that attracts wine lovers from all over the world. We invite you to take a leisurely ride or drive along the Bottelary Hills wine route (R304). On your journey, you will discover in Koelenhof Wine Cellar a winery with an unwavering commitment to creating premier-quality, yet accessible wines.”

The year 1679 is the year that the town Stellenbosch was founded. That is why our Stellenbosch 1679 Bushvine Chenin Blanc is so close to our heart (and our town Stellenbosch), and the reason why we work so closely with the Old Vines Project as it is rich in history and tradition.

The Winemaking Team

The Koelenhof Winemaking team consists of 3 dedicated young gentlemen, who are masters of their craft. Nicholas Husselman heads this team, along with Estian Matthee (White wines) and Handre Visagie (Red wines). When it comes to their wine making philosophy, they all agree, wines are made in the vineyards.

Under the careful hands of these 3 enthusiastic guys, they make sure that only the best of the best goes into our Koelenhof wines. And this is exactly where our Bushvine Chenin 1679 comes in!
